A weekend course sleeping out under the stars in a Devon woodland. Under bashas or your own hand built shelters. Food will be provided around an open camp fire where everyone can get to know each other better. There will be environmentally friendly toilets hidden in the woods in keeping with the bushcraft experience. Plenty of water will be provided for drinking and washing. Just bring yourself, your kit and an open mind.
The course will run from 10am Saturday to 3pm Sunday. All food and refreshments will be provided and a certificate of attendance will be awarded after the course.
Course subjects covered and practised will be:-
• Environmental awareness in woodlands and forests
• Trees and wood for shelter building
• Trees and wood for making fire by friction
• Tree identification – different species and their properties
• Food and drink from trees
• Trees and their use for hunting and trapping*
• Cordage from trees
• Knots and ropework used in bushcraft
* No animals will be hunted or trapped on these courses.

• Warm hat

• Torch with spare batteries
• Sleeping bag
• Groundsheet (optional)
• Small tarp (optional)
• Rucksack
• Wash kit
• Water bottle
• Eating utensils - plate, cup & cutlery
• Cooking stove (optional)
• Knife with fixed or locking blade (optional)
A full one day workshop set within a Devon woodland. Working together you will find out how to build a natural shelter from what the woods have to offer. Enjoy the thrill of learning how to make fire by friction from different woods. Discover some of the facinating facts of bushcraft and have a go at trying some of these skills for yourself. Come away with knowledge that will enrich your life forever.
